The Alopecia Summit is designed to address new pathomechanisms of disease in Alopecia Areata and Cicatricial Alopecia, to discuss new environmental factors and the basis for novel therapies such as JAK inhibitors as emerging new drugs for Alopecia Areata and several Cicatricial Alopecias, and to review the uses of minoxidil and other emerging therapies in treating Androgenetic Alopecia.

The emergence of JAK inhibitors as a new class of drugs to treat patients with Alopecia Areata and several forms of Cicatricial Alopecia has created a knowledge and competence gap for most practicing dermatologists and other healthcare providers who treat hair loss patients. We will provide education covering the JAK signaling pathway and the mechanism of action of specific JAK inhibitors. We will discuss how to effectively treat patients with Alopecia Areata and Cicatricial Alopecia using traditional therapies, JAK inhibitors and other evolving therapies to improve patient outcomes. We will review minoxidil as a treatment option for Androgenetic Alopecia and explore the latest advances in various emerging therapies.
