2025 Meeting Dates

Society & International Meetings: The American Hair Research Society (AHRS) meets twice yearly at the annual meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. Beginning in 2018, the AHRS added to its schedule to meet annually in Central or South America at CILAD, RADLA, or similar. The AHRS also holds an ancillary meeting at the time of the World Congress of Dermatology.

At the AHRS meeting associated with the AAD, one or two keynote speakers present their work on hair-associated topics at the annual luncheon, traditionally held on Fridays from noon-2 pm. This is a time to meet with colleagues and exchange ideas for future collaboration, especially in the clinical research realm.

At the AHRS annual meeting associated with the SID, generally held on Friday evening, a keynote speaker will give a lecture and individual short presentations will be given as well, primarily by AHRS members. This meeting will emphasize cutting edge research on basic hair biology and on hair and scalp disorders and provide a forum for an active exchange of ideas. The goal of this meeting is to provide a relatively informal setting for presentation of data and exchange of ideas. This meeting is also where official AHRS business takes place including election of officers and Board members.

The AHRS also interfaces with other international hair research societies (e.g., European, Australasian, Korean, and Japanese) and organizes the World Congress for Hair Research every several years on a rotating basis. This is the largest and most respected hair research meeting in the scientific community, with proceedings subsequently published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
